The Planner's
report and the Planning Commission ~enied this request.
P9r. Allen Griffer, representing A~vocate Real Estate,
appeared before the Council explaining the request for a
setback variance. It is their belief that special
conditions do exist that are peculiar to this parcel of
land. He explained that the lot in question has a peculiar
shape to it. The east side abuts to land that is in the
possession of the Department of Eiighways. The frontage
road slopes away from Fliqhway 36. If they set the building
back, there would not be enough land available for parking
spaces. There ~eas an alternative ~lan proposed which would
flip flop the building. F3e asked that someone would move
that the alternative site plan recommended by the Planner
F~oulcl be accepted.
The Council discussed the setbacks and the neighboring
buildings with the Planner.
14r. Griffer stated that they would have to redrait the
plans because the tower would be on the wrong side of the
building. There would be extra o~fice spaces to rent outp
but there would be no residential uses of the building,
?.
