Vitale also <br />reported th~zt the curbing whi.ch was insta7.led h1s tire marks <br />~nd grooves i.n it and looks bac~, <br />T~Iark tieavers, 7H9 Carla Lane, pointed out L-ha~ the proZ~erty <br />owners had two objectives in requesting the overlay, the <br />firs~ being to repair the poor condition of the street, and <br />the seconc3 ~oas to irnprove the ax~pearance of the <br />neighborhood. S^Teavers felt that the mlterial that ~,~as used <br />in the overlay and curbing improvement was very soft ancl <br />c~uestioned its quality. ~deavers agreed tha~ the curbi.ng <br />looks terrible and has been damagecl. <br />The Cii:y Enganeer pointecl out that the curbinc~ is not an <br />actual curb, but rather a lip and ~,~as basically for the <br />purpose of directing caater. <br />Peggy Schweizer, C'~rla L1ne res5.dent, pointed out that the <br />City h~d al~~rays referred to i.t as ~ curb. <br />Fahey sugc~ested tha~ part of the reason that i:he overJ.ay <br />material appears to be soft i.s the peat whici~ is under the <br />str.eet. <br />The City F_,ngi.neer agreed tkiat there were tire marks on the <br />1ip, but not on the street pavemen~. <br />Y].esener poi.ntec~ out that an actual curb coulil not have been <br />instalJ.ecl, otherwise it would have been necessary to fill <br />;?1C)e lii <br />
