MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />September 13, 1989 <br />The City Attorney reported that an informal arrangement <br />is possible if the City obtains signed waivers of <br />assessment hearing and right to appeal. <br />The City Engineer pointed out that some of these homes <br />are very new and the homeowners may be able to go back <br />to the builder for the cost of cleaning the ditch. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-9-439 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER <br />TO PROCEED WITH AN INFORMAL ASSESSMENT ARRANGEMENT WITH <br />THE PROPERTY OWNERS INVOLVED TO CLEAN UP THE DRAINAGE <br />DITCH BETWEEN THUNDER BAY ROAD AND ONTARIO ROAD NORTH <br />OF ALLEN WHERE NECESSARY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. <br />Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />MN STATE Council reviewed the correspondence in their agenda <br />AID COMPUTERS packets with regard to State Aid computers noting Jean <br />Podominick has recommended against the City's <br />participation in this program. <br />DEMONT AVE The City Engineer submitted to the Council information <br />IMPROVEMENT on his request for final payment of State Aid funds for <br />the Demont Avenue improvement. <br />FIRE STATION The City Attorney reported that he has had appraisals <br />SITE done of the three properties at the corner of Little <br />Canada Road and Centerville Road that have been <br />identified as a possible location of the new Fire <br />Station. The appraisal of the McNamara property is <br />$97,650, the Weinholzer property is $82,000 and the <br />Mondor property is $69,000. The Attorney reported that <br />he has communicated these appraisal amounts to the <br />property owners. Weinholzer and McNamara indicated <br />that the appraisals were too low, and Mr. Mondor wanted <br />to discuss the matter with his wife. <br />The City Attorney anticipated some down time until the <br />purchase prices of the three properties are determined. <br />Page 19 <br />
