City of Little Canada Housing Study - 2025

Before 2024, Little Canada had a higher proportion of condo/townhome sales than reference
communities, while the Twin Cities Metro never exceeded 27% of its sales in these housing
types during this period.

The sales trends align with Little Canada’s housing stock composition—as noted in Figure 10,
about 50% of all housing units in the city are multifamily structures.

Housing Costs
Little Canada has a long-standing reputation as an affordable place to live. However, data on
sales prices, home values, rents, and housing cost-burdened rates provide a more nuanced
understanding of affordability in the city.

The median sales price of a home in Little Canada in 2024 was $365,500—higher than in most
reference communities but still below the Twin Cities Metro median of $380,000.
