MINUTES OF TAE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />January 4, 1990 <br />FIRE DEPT <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the 4th day of January, 1990 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it <br />to order at 7:00 P.M, and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor <br /> <br />Councilmember Mr. Michael Fahey <br /> <br />Councilmember Mr. Bill Blesener <br /> <br />Councilmember Mr. <br />Mr Rick Collova <br />Ji <br /> <br />Councilmember . <br />Mrs. m LaValle <br />Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. <br />Mr. <br />Joel Hanson <br />Recording Sec. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />Mr. David Kroos, Boarman & Associates, appeared before <br />the Council and reviewed his report dated January 4, <br />1990 outlining estimated costs of development of a new <br />fire station. Kroos reviewed these cost estimates in <br />detail, which included an estimate of $900,000 for <br />building construction, $239,500 for site development, <br />$80,000 for furniture and equipment, $2,500 for audio <br />visual costs, $2,500 for kitchen equipment, $125,000 <br />for contingency, $g5,500 for professional fees. Other <br />costs such as cost of computers, telephone system, <br />financing and land acquisition costs have yet to be <br />determined. The total partial project costs are <br />estimated at $1,432,500. <br />Fahey asked if $75.00 per square foot would allow the <br />City to construct a fire hall similar to that in <br />Mendota Heights. <br />Kroos replied that it would, depending on the site <br />development costs. Kroos reported that a brick and <br />block facade would run about $3 more per square foot <br />than a burnished block facade. <br />Kroos reported that the Mendota Heights' fire station <br />consisted of approximately 10,000 square feet, while <br />Page 1 <br />
