MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
January 24, 1990
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 90-1-31 - APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE
JANUARY 10, 1990 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS SUBMITTED
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Fahey, Collova, LaValle.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
PUBLIC Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider adoption
HEARING of a Redevelopment Project Area Plan for the creation
REDEVELOPMENT of a Redevelopment Project Area.
PROJECT AREA
PLAN Dan Wilson reported that the public hearing is a
procedural-type of activity that is required by the
installment sales contract for financing of the new
fire station project. Wilson reported that the City's
Economic Development Authority is creating a
redevelopment area as shown on the map before the
Council. The area includes not only the fire station
site, but surrounding property as well. Wilson
reported that by adopting the Redevelopment Project
Area Plan and creating the Redevelopment Project Area
it is hoped that an existing blighted would be cleaned
up and that construction of a new fire station would
likely cause or encourage additional redevelopment in
the area as a whole.
Wilson reported that the procedure to be followed this
evening is for the City Council to hold the public
hearing on adoption of the Redevelopment Project Area
Plan and then adopt the Plan. Then the Economic
Development Authority would adopt the plan and sell the
bonds for financing the new fire station project.
Fahey asked if there was anyone from the general public
present wishing to comment on this matter. There was
not.
Upon motion by Fahey, seconded by Scalze, the public
hearing was closed.
Page 2
