MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL & EDA <br />February 7, 1990 <br />OPTICIANS' SOCIETY TO HOLD A GOLD PLATE DINNER AT THE <br />VENETIAN INN ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11~ 1990 SUBJECT TO <br />SUBMISSION OF THE APPROPRIATE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />VENETIAN INN AND WAIVING THE CITY'S REVIEW PERIOD <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (o). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Council discussed the lateness with which the MN <br />Opticians' Society submitted their application and it <br />was the concensus of the Council that the Venetian Inn <br />should be informed of the City's procedures in acting <br />upon gamblinq permit applications. <br />Blesener commented that this is not the type of <br />organization that he would approve a Class A gambling <br />permit for, pointing out that it is a professional <br />organization and not a charitable organization. <br />FIRE DEPT. Brad Farnham, Juran & Moody, reported that he is <br />FINANCING requesting the EDA and City Council take some actions <br />this evening in conjunction with the closing of the <br />bond sale for financing of the new Fire Station. <br />Farnham reported that the closings on the Fire Station <br />property are scheduled for tomorrow morning, and <br />reported that the actions he is requesting the EDA and <br />City Council take this evening are in the event that <br />the closings on the property purchases are delayed. <br />As a member of the City Council, Mr. Blesner introduced <br />the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 90-2-56 - IN THE EVENT THAT THE CLOSINGS <br />ON THE FIRE STATION PROPERTIES DO NOT OCCUR ON FEBRUARY <br />8, 1990~ THE CITY COUNCIL HEREBY APPROVES AN <br />ALTERNATIVE TRUST INDENTURE AND INSTALLMENT PURCHASE <br />CONTRACT AS THE OPERATIVE DOCUMENTS AS PART OF THE FIRE <br />STATION BOND SALE <br />Page 2 <br />
