MINUTES CITY COUNCIL APRIL 25, 1990 Boosalis suggested that rather than amend the Sign Ordinance, the City amend the PUD Agreement to allow the third pylon. Fahey stated that the City must act in a manner that will provide consistent treatment for all developers. Council continued its discussion on whether or not the Sign Ordinance should be amended to require that the pylon allowed for the second frontage should be required to be centered on that frontage and a reasonable distance from the corner. It was the concensus of the Council that the City Planner should do an additional survey of other cities to determine how these cities address that particular situation. Council also felt that this matter should be presented to the Planning Commission for their recommendation. Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-4-216 - TABLING ACTION ON THE PROPOSED TEXT AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S SIGN ORDINANCE UNTIL THE MAY 23, 1990 COUNCIL MEETING TO GIVE THE CITY PLANNER AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONDUCT AN ADDITIONAL SURVEY ON THE ISSUE OF NUMBER AND LOCATION OF PYLONS ALLOWED FOR SHOPPING CENTERS HAVING TWO FRONTAGES AND REFERRING THIS MATTER TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR THEIR REVIEW AND COMMENT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, LaValle, Collova, Scalze. Nays (o). Resolution declared adopted. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 90-4-217 - CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR MAY 23, 1990 TO CONSIDER AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S SIGN ORDINANCE The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Collova, Blesener, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. RECESS At this point in the meeting, 9:32 P.M., Council took a short recess.
