MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 10, 1992 <br />defined. <br />Hanson replied that the definition is an organization <br />whose source of funding is derived in whole or part <br />from City resources. <br />Morelan asked if other City-funded organizations have <br />been contacted for their input on this policy. <br />LaValle questioned the affect on other organizations, <br />and Scalze pointed out that the Recreation Association <br />is not funded by the City. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-2-45 - CLARIFYING THE CONDITIONS OF <br />THE EMPLOYMENT OFFER MADE TO JIM MORELAN FOR THE <br />FULL-TIME PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR POSITION <br />INDICATING THAT BASED ON THE COUNCIL'S UNDERSTANDING OF <br />THE INTERVIEW PROCESS ONE OF THE CONDITIONS OF <br />EMPLOYMENT WAS THAT THE APPLICANT NOT HOLD DEPARTMENT <br />AEAD STATUS IN TWO OR MORE CITY-FUNDED DEPARTMENTS <br />WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />The foreqoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (3) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson. <br />Nays (1) Collova. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Collova reported that he voted against the resolution <br />because he did not recall Jim Morelan saying at the <br />interview that he would not be Fire Chief. Collova <br />stated that he recalled Morelan saying that his <br />full-time job would come first. Collova stated that if <br />he had remembered Morelan saying that he would not be <br />Chief, he would have supported the resolution. <br />The City Administrator asked if he should reconvey the <br />offer on the corrected basis. <br />The Attorney replied that he should. <br />The Administrator noted that there will be three <br />policies for Council consideration at Wednesday's <br />meeting, one of which deals with the dual department <br />head status. <br />ADJOURN Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />Page 16 <br />
