Scalze reported that she and the City
Administrator have looked at the ordinances qoverning
park and recreation commissions of seven surrounding
cities. With the exception of Arden Hills, all had
ordinances establishing park and recreation
commissions. Scalze reported that using these
ordinances, she and the City Administrator put together
a proposed ordinance for Little Canada. Scalze pointed
out that the ordinance addresses anyone who provides
recreational services to the City.
Blesener pointed out that the ordinance does not
specify that commissioners' terms are staggered.
The City Administrator felt that since terms are
already staggered and the existing members would
continue in the new capacity, this issue was covered.
Page 1
