MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 16, 1992 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the 16th day of July, 1992 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired the meeting and called it <br />to order at 5:30 P.M. and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Raymond Hanson <br />Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />Mr. Rick Collova <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />City Admin. <br />City Auditor <br />Recording Sec. <br />Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Mr. Bob Voto <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />1991 City Auditor Bob Voto presented the Council with the <br />FINANCIAL 1991 financial reports for the City. The first report <br />REPORT reviewed was the Annual Financial Report which Voto <br />pointed out demonstrates that the City has a very sound <br />financial condition. <br />Next reviewed was the Management Report and <br />Recommendations. Voto pointed out that areas which may <br />be of particular interest to the City are: <br />*The State continues to make changes that affect City <br />finances. <br />*The City's local government aid (from the State) <br />decreased from $366,200 in 1989 to $138,700 in 1990 <br />and to $71,900 in 1991. <br />*The City's current and delinquent property tax <br />collection rate was 99% in 1991. <br />*General Fund Balance increased by $28,900 during 1991. <br />With regard to recent Legislative actions, Voto noted <br />that the State did not change the 1990 law which <br />repeals levy limits starting with taxes payable in <br />Page 1 <br />
