MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 24, 1993
recommended that the City Attorney comment on the
exposure that the City might have. The Administrator
also suggested that he talk to some other cities and
about street widths and parking limitations.
The Administrator explained a spreadsheet he prepared
showing potential funding sources for street
reconstruction, pointing out that the street overlay
fund, MSA construction fund and closed bond funds may
be potential funding sources. The Administrator felt
that there was a need for the Council to hold a
long-term financial planning workshop to address these
kinds of issues.
Morelan indicated that the $50 per front foot flat rate
assessment that has been discussed makes sense to him,
however, he would like to see that rate even lower.
Morelan acknowledged that lowering the rate may
increase the general tax burden.
The Administrator recommended that the workshop be
continued to another date at which the specifics of the
policy can be discussed in more detail. The
Administrator reported that he will refine the numbers
and provide the Council with more financial
information.
There being no further business, the workshop was
adjourned at 7:28 P.M.
~) ,
~ ~~, ~ / ~~ ~~ ~r
~~i'~, ~/~ ~%l~!~..
t`'Beverl~ ~'cal e, Ac~ing Mayor
Attest• ... ,.,._._-> ~~4L L` _ .._
~oel ~2.; Hanson, City Administrator
\\ %
Page 7
