CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2025-4-____ <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING HF 974/SF 2045, <br />THE EQUAL ACCESS TO BROADBAND ACT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Little Canada is the official governing body of the City of <br />Little Canada; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Little Canada The Equal Access to Broadband Act, a reintroduced bill that <br />would allow cities to franchise broadband to ensure equal access and equitable broadband deployment; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Little Canada supports allowing local franchising authorities to franchise <br />broadband, helping to ensure more equitable broadband deployment across the state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Little Canada supports community media efforts, including those currently <br />provided by The North Suburban Access Corporation (NSAC); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Little Canada supports The North Suburban Communications Commission <br />(NSCC) and their administration, enforcement, and resource stewardship of franchise agreements and <br />franchise fees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Little Canada supports sending a letter of support for HF 974/SF 2045 – the <br />Equal Access to Broadband Act. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE <br />CANADA, MINNESOTA, THAT; <br /> <br />1.
