MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 12, 1993 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-5-130 - APPROVING THE 1993 FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, 5calze, Aanson, Pedersen, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LCRA The LCRA made application for temporary on-sale liquor <br />NORTH license for their North Country Classic to be h eld in <br />COUNTRY Pioneer Park on June 12 and 13, 1993. LCRA has also <br />CLASSIC requested that parking be allowed along DeSoto Street <br /> during the tournament. <br /> Mr. LaValle introduced the following re solution and <br /> move its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 93-5-131 - APPROVING A TEMPORARY ON-SALE <br />LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE LITTLE CANADA RECREATION <br />ASSOCIATION FOR THEIR NORTH COUNTRY CLASSIC TO BE AELD <br />AT PIONEER PARK ON JUNE 12 AND 13, 1993 SUBJECT TO <br />SATISFACTORY SHERIFF'S REPORTS, SUBMISSION OF PROOF OF <br />LIQUOR LIABILITY INSURANCE, AND WAIVING THE PERMIT FEE, <br />AS WELL AS GRANTING PERMISSION FOR PARKING ALONG THE <br />WEST SIDE OF DESOTO STREET ADJACENT TO PIONEER PARK <br />DURING THE TOURNAMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Hanson, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SWIMMING Morelan reported that he received a call expressing <br />POOLS concern the City's ordinance requirement for a 4-foot <br />fence around swimming pools is inadequate. Morelan <br />suggested that City staff survey other cities to <br />determine what their ordinance requirements are. <br />Morelan also noted that should the City choose to <br />increase the fencing height requirement, he is aware <br />that existing fencing would be grandfathered in. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 93-5-132 - INSTRUCTING CITY STAFF TO <br />SURVEY SURROUNDING CITIES TO DETERMINE THEIR ORDINANCE <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR FENCING AROUND SWIMMING POOLS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0).
