MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 27, 1993 <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-10-242 - APPROVING TAE MINUTES OF THE <br />OCTOBER 13, 1993 COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Hanson. <br />Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-10-243 - APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE <br />OCTOBER 13, 1993 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Hanson, Pedersen, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ANNOUNCE- Hanson reminded drivers to be very cautious on <br />MENTS Halloween since there will be many children out on the <br />streets that evening. <br />Morelan reported that the Minnesota Fire Prevention <br />Council recommends that batteries in smoke detectors be <br />changed each year when clocks are changed for daylight <br />savings time. <br />BOND SALE Brad Farnham, Springsted, appeared before the Council <br />and reviewed the bids received for the refunding of <br />$350,000 General Obligation Improvement Bonds of 1978. <br />Four bids were received ranging from a high of 3.7644% <br />to a low of 3.6274%. The low bidder was American <br />National Bank of Saint Paul. Farnham pointed out that <br />the refunding issue is fairly short, with a maturity <br />date of 1998. Farnham recommended award of the low bid <br />submitted by American National Bank. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 93-10-244 - ACCEPTING BID ON THE <br />COMPETITIVE NEGOTIATED SALE OF $350,000 GENERAL <br />Page 2 <br />
