MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 13, 1994 <br />ANNOUNCE:MENTS On behalf of the City, Scalze thanked Kathy Hanson for <br />the flower plantings and weeding that she has been <br />doing at Gervais Mill Park and the old fire station. <br />The Mayor pointed out that the Donovan's, Ehrnreiter's, <br />and Melchoir's have assisted in these efforts as well. <br />LaValle announced the 10-year anniversary celebration <br />at the Garden Terrace Apartments on Sunday, July 31st, <br />from 1 P.M. until 4 P.M. The public is welcomed. <br />PROPERTY The Mayor opened the Public Hearing to consider the <br />DIVISION, applications for Property Division, Variance from <br />VARIANCE, building materials requirement of 50o masonry coverage, <br />CUP, & FILL Conditional Use Permit for outdoor storage in the I-P <br />PERMIT - District, and Fill Permit for approximately 3065 Spruce <br />3065 SPRUCE - Street as requested by Dan Stockness. <br />STOCKNESS <br />Mr. Stockness appeared before the Council and explained <br />his request. Stockness reported that his business is <br />currently located at 190 Ryan Drive in Ryan Industrial <br />Park. <br />Hanson asked if there was anyone from the general <br />public present wishing to comment on this request. <br />There was not. <br />Hanson pointed out that the Planning Commission <br />recommended approval of the property division provided <br />that the northern 25 feet of the property be combined <br />with the adjacent Nielsen property. <br />Scalze asked if the Variance request from the building <br />materials requirement was based on the results of soil <br />tests that were done on the site. Scalze also asked if <br />Stockness had considered a stucco veneer, which would <br />be lighter weight than masonry. <br />Stockness replied that the <br />the soil test results, and <br />proposal stucco was consid <br />considered to be an option <br />movement of the soil would <br />cracking. <br />Variance request is based on <br />that in developing his <br />ared.
