MINUTES OF THE WORKSFIOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />AUGUST 10, 1994 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the lOth day of August, 1994 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to <br />order at 6:10 P.M. and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Auditor Mr. Bob Voto <br />City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Acctg. Clerk Mrs. Julie Manville-Camp <br />Admin. Asst. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />1993 FINANCIAL Mr. Bob Voto, City Auditor, appeared before the <br />REPORTS Council and presented the 1993 Annual Financial Report <br />and Management Report and Recommendations. Voto reported <br />that the City is in excellent financial condition, and <br />has improved its accounting policies and procedures every <br />year. Voto reviewed the Management Report and <br />Recommendations in detail pointing out that some <br />highlights of the report are as follows: <br />*Property tax revenue continues to be the major <br />source of financing (58%) for the general <br />government operations of the City. <br />*State aids continue to increase moderately for <br />the past three years after decreases totaling <br />$199,168 or 40% for 1990 and 1991. <br />*The City's property tax collection rate was 99% <br />for 1993 after allowing for abatements of $60,900 <br />or 3%. <br />*The City's special assessment collection rate <br />was 101% for 1993 indicating a solid collection <br />rate. <br />1 <br />
