MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVII~'IBER 9, 1994
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Morelan, Pedersen.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
ORDINANCE The City Attorney reported that provisions in the City
AMENDMENT - Code and the Zoning Code are inconsistent as relates
OFF-STREET to off-street parking of commercial vehicles in the
PARKING Residential Zoninq District. The Code amendment before
the Council amends the City Code to make the two
provisions consistent.
LaValle asked if the limitation of 12,000 pounds was
too restrictive.
The City Administrator pointed out that 12,000 pounds
is the Code's current limitation on the size of
commercial vehicle that may be parked in a Residential
District, and the amendment before the Council does not
change this aspect of the ordinance.
LaValle was concerned that the 12,000 pound limitation
may be too restrictive, and there may be individuals
who have a take-home vehicle which exceeds 12,000
pounds.
Council noted that there have been no complaints about
this portion of the ordinance, noting that a 3/4 ton
pick-up truck would weigh between 6,000 and 7,000
pounds.
Pedersen suggested that the ordinance amendment contain
specific language stating that over-night parking of
commercial vehicles as detailed in the Zoning Code is
allowed.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following ordinance and
moved its adoption:
ORDINANCE NO. 396 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION
403.050. OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
CANADA, RELATING TO THE PARKING OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS AS AMENDED TO INCLUDE MORE
SPECIFIC LANGUAGE AS INCLUDED IN TIIE ZONING CODE
The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (4) Morelan, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen.
Nays (1) LaValle. Ordinance declared adopted.
9
