MINUTES CITY COUNCIL DECENISER 21, 1994 be funded after approval by the Council on specifics such as design, etc. The Administrator pointed out that Council Member Pedersen is assuming that each item approved on the list would come back for a subsequent approval. However, this is not how it has been done in the past. Pedersen pointed out that the committee did their work and prioritized the funding requests. Pedersen suggested that the Council then approve each item on the list as dollars and final pricing information become available. Scalze noted that the Council has had prolonged discussion on the items on the list and felt they were ready to go. Scalze again suggested that funding approval be given to the first nine items on the list. Morelan pointed out that the Committee included 12 items to be funded during 1995, and suggested that approval include all 12 items subject to availability of funds. Morelan also stated that he felt any City Center monument sign which did not incorporate a message board would be a mistake. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 94-12-435 - APPROVING TI-IE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE FIRST NINE ITEMS LISTED ON THE 1995 10% COMMITTEE FUNDING RECOMMENDATION LIST WITH THE INCREASE IN COST ESTIMATE FOR CITY ENTRANCE SIGNS FROM $4,800 TO $9,500 AND A COST ESTIMATE OF $15,000 FOR THE CITY CENTER MONUMENT SIGN, WHICH WAS AN ITEM PREVIOUSLY APPROVED FOR 1994 EXPENDITURE The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Aanson, Pedersen. Nays (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted. LaValle stated that the City Administrator and staff have done an excellent job on the 1995 Budget and pointed out that the budget results in a 0% net levy increase. DIANNA LANE The City Administrator reported that the City's RETAINING landscape architect is recommending that the Dianna WALL Lane retain wall be replaced with a one-to-one slope. 29
