MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 12, 1995
Gibbs reported that $64,000 in delinquent taxes were
post to pending petitions and abatements. These
appears to be the situation with all Ramsey County
cities resulting from valuation adjustments.
Morelan pointed out that the City used a 97% collection
rate in putting together the 1995 budget.
Scalze asked if the City will know by budget time the
outcome of the pending petitions and abatements.
The City Administrator replied that he did not believe
the City would know the outcome of these petitions
until December. Therefore, the City must be
conservative in estimating 1996 tax collections. The
Administrator indicated that he would discuss this with
the County so that he would have the best information
possible in putting together the 1996 Budget.
The Administrator and Gibbs commented that the job the
City~s Accountant is doing has made a tremendous
difference in the audit process as well as the City
having better financial information in-house.
There being no further business, the workshop was
adjourned at 7:20 P,M.
<._
Mick~ael I.
Attest:
R.
