MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTENIBIIt 7, 1995
The Administrator recommended the use of TIF
administration dollars for economic development. The
Administrator estimated that there may be $50,000 in
administration fees, but it would take some analysis to
determine the exact amount which would be available for
economic development.
Morelan asked if it would be cost-effective to do a
second sweeping of City streets.
The Administrator estimated that it would take an
additional $2,500 to do a second sweeping.
Public Works Superintendent suggested that it may be
cost-effective to do a second sweeping in terms of less
materials running into storm sewers. However, the
addition of disposal costs of swept materials in
addition to the $2,500 sweeping costs outweigh the
benefits.
The City Administrator reported that the problem areas
are around building sites, and suggested that a system
of escrowing dollars from contractors to ensure that
they keep streets adjacent to building sites clean may
be the answer.
The Council agreed to forego a second sweeping.
This concluded the Council's discussion of the 1996
Budget. The Administrator pointed out that the
preliminary levy will have to be certified at the
Council's September 13th meeting.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
Attest:
13
