Mrs. Kathy Glanzer
1996 BUDGET The purpose of tonight's meeting is to continue review
of the 1996 Budget. The City Administrator pointed out
that the preliminary levy was certified to the County
with a 3.5% increase. It is the Council's intention to
get the increase lower than 3.5%. Based on the
Council's actions to date, $2,310 in additional
revenues or expense cuts would have to occur to achieve
a 3.5% net levy increase. To achieve a 3% increase,
$8,410 in adjustments are needed.
The City Administrator reviewed some additional
recommendations he had with regard to the budget.
These are outlined in his letter dated October 10,
1995. The first recommendation was to increase revenue
associated with Municipal State Aid by $4,080. This is
possible due to an increase in the City's MSA allotment
for 1996. The increase would be split between the
General Fund and the Street Overlay Fund.
It was the consensus of the Council to make this
increase.
The next recommendation is to increase taxi licensing
fees from $35 per license to $50. This fee would be
more reflective the staff's time associated with
processing the licenses. The Administrator also
pointed out that since 1993 there have been no licenses
1
