MINUPES OF TAE WORKSAOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL AND PARR & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JANiJARY 24, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the City Council and the Park & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was <br />held on the 24th day of January, 1996 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at <br />6:00 P.M. and the following members of the City Council <br />and Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />PARK & RECREATION <br />COMMISSION: Ms. Karen Johnson <br />Ms. Pat Ables <br />Mr. Tom Holm <br />Mr. Troy Rajanen <br />Mr. Howard Remerowski <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Joel Hanson, City Admin. <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, P& R Director <br />Mr. Jack Fitzgerald, P& R <br />Ms. Michelle DeBace, P& R <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Admin. Asst. <br />Mayor Fahey welcomed those present to this joint <br />workshop of the City Council and Parks & Recreation <br />Commission. Fahey suggested that the topics to be <br />discussed this evening include staffing of the Parks & <br />Recreation Department, the City's recreation program, <br />and the proposed picnic shelter at Spooner Park. <br />RECREATION Fahey reported that as part of the 1996 Budget <br />DEPARTMENT discussions, the Council discussed staffing of the <br />STAFFING Parks & Recreation Department and determined that there <br />was not sufficient justification for adding a full-time <br />person at this time. The Council decided that the two <br />part-time recreation assistants should be paid on an <br />1 <br />
