MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 30, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the 30th day of April, <br />1996 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located <br />at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Acting Mayor Beverly Scalze called the meeting to order <br />at 6:18 P.M. and the following members of the City <br />Council were present at roll call: <br /> CITY COUNCIL: Acting Mayor Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br /> Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br /> Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br /> Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Ehlers Assoc. Mr. Rusty Fifield <br /> Hoisington Mr. Michael Schroeder <br /> Venetian Inn Mr. Joe Vitale <br /> Mr. Sherman Rutzick <br /> Mr. Lee Guerin <br /> City Admin. Mr. Joel R. I-Ianson <br /> Admin. Asst. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />RICE STREET/ The City Administrator reported that the purpose of <br />LITTLE CANADA tonight's meeting is to discuss the key issues, such <br />ROAD - as development objectives, site control, etc., <br />DEVELOPER relative to the City's putting out a Request For <br />RFP DISCUSSION Proposals from developers for the Rice Street/Little <br /> Canada Road redevelopment area. The Administrator <br /> pointed out that developers interested in submitting <br /> proposals will want to know where the City is at prior <br /> to submittinq a proposal. The Administrator pointed <br /> out that the Council has discussed putting out an RFP <br /> for the Guerin/Budget Power site. Discussions have <br /> occurred with Joe Vitale and Sherman Rutzick, and they <br /> have indicated they would be interested in an RFP for <br /> their properties as well. <br />Rusty Fifield, the City's Financial Advisor, reviewed a <br />preliminary analysis of the numbers related to <br />redevelopment of the Guerin/Budget Power site. Fifield <br />estimated total acquisition costs at $770,000. Based <br />on this amount, Fifield presented five alternatives for <br />resale'of the property to a developer.
