MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 14, 1996 <br />the parking lot at The Market Place 5hopping Center. <br />Morelan asked if one of the focuses of the Rice Street <br />car was to patrol this area. <br />Shanley replied that it was. Shanley reported that the <br />Rice Street car assists the other patrol cars, and will <br />patrol areas when other cars are tied up. Shanley felt <br />the situation was working well, and reported that the <br />Rice Street car is a very busy car. <br />Morelan reported that he has had some contact with the <br />Sheriff's Department's dispatch employees, and he <br />agreed they were an outstanding crew. Morelan <br />suggested that when the Sheriff's Department has an <br />open house, visitors be encouraged to visit the <br />dispatch center. <br />LaValle indicated that Lt. Shanley has always had a <br />good working relationship with the contract cities, and <br />stated that he will be missed. Fletcher reported that <br />Lt. Shanley will be transferring to his office as the <br />departmental affairs person. Lt. Daly will be assuming <br />Shanley~s present duties. Fletcher indicated that both <br />are excellent individuals, and the reassignment should <br />work well. <br />Fletcher thanked the Council for the opportunity to <br />address them this evening. <br />CONSENT Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />AGENDA moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-8-188 - APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: <br />*APPROVAL OF MASSAGE THERAPY LICENSE FOR JACQUELINE <br />THOMPSON TO OPERATE AT NATURAL REFLECTIONS; <br />*APPROVAL OF PALMEN FILL PERMIT; <br />*APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE PRIMARY AND <br />GENERAL ELECTIONS AS RECOMMENDED BY STAFF; <br />*APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDERS FOR THE OLD FIRE STATION <br />PROJECT AS RECOMMENDED BY STAFF. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />8 <br />
