MINUT~S OF THE WORKSHOP ME~'TING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 23, 1997 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meetin~ of the City <br />Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 23"~ day <br />of April, 1997 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />City Administrator <br />Fire Chief <br />Assistant Chief <br />Assistant Chief <br />Fire Dept. <br />Fire Dept. <br />Fire Dept. <br />Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Mr. Dick Boss <br />Mr. Jim Morelan <br />Mr. Jim Zietlow <br />Mr. Jim Gustafson <br />Mr. Bob Leibel <br />Mr. Don Smiley <br />JOINT The Fire Chief reported that the purpose of tonight's workshop is to <br />WORKSHOP provide an opportunity for the Fire Department to update the Council <br />WITH FIRE on the Fire Department's 1996 activities and plans for 1997. The Chief <br />DEPARTMENT began by informing the Council that the Department has two new <br />members, Pat Keenan and Nick Strohbeen. This brings the Department's <br />roster to 36 members. However, Tom Potvin, a 20-year member, is <br />planning to retire on May ls`. There are currently five applications on file <br />from individuals interested in joining the Department. <br />The Chief reviewed the 1997 Officer Assignment List as well as <br />Committee List, Duty Assi~uments, and Officer List. <br />The Chief reported that the Fire Department responded to I55 calls during <br />the time period December 1, 1995 through December 1, 1996. A <br />breakdown of the types of calls was presented. <br />Tl~e next issue discussed was the soundin~3 of the Fire Department's siren. <br />The Chief repoited that the De~artment has begun sounding the siren at <br />
