e. Be removed or repaired if determined to be a nuisance or otherwise not in <br />compliance with the provisions of this section. <br />G. Special Purpose Fences <br />1. Security Fences <br />Fences on commercial or industrial properties installed for security purposes may be <br />erected subject to the following standards: <br />a. Conditional Use Permit Required. A Conditional Use Permit shall be required <br />for all proposed security fences. <br />b. Demonstrated Security Need. The Applicant must demonstrate to the <br />satisfaction of the City Council that a security fence is necessary due to <br />legitimate operational, public safety, or site security concerns. <br />c. Height Standards <br />i. Security fences within the front or corner side yards shall not exceed six <br />(6) feet in height and are subject to the visibility triangle setback of 30 <br />feet found in Section 915.030. <br />ii. Security fences in the non-corner side or rear yard shall not exceed eight <br />(8) feet in height. <br />d. Fence Extensions for Barbed Wire <br />Security fences may include inward facing arm extensions to support barbed <br />wire, subject to the following requirements: <br />i. Fence arms shall not exceed three (3) feet in length. <br />ii. Fence arms shall be placed at a height between six (6) and of eight (8) <br />feet above ground level, on which barbed wire may be strung. <br />iii. Fence arm extensions and barbed wire shall not extend across an <br />abutting property line or over any public right-of-way. <br />2. Sport Court Fences. <br />a. Chain link or woven wire fences (without slat screens) used for the enclosure of <br />sport courts or other such recreational purposes are permitted. <br />b. Such fences shall not exceed 10 feet in height <br />c. Such fences may only be located in a rear yard and must be a minimum of five <br />(5) feet from the side and rear property lines. <br />3. Railroad Screening Fence. In the case of residential property that abuts railroad <br />property, a fence for the purpose of sound and visual barrier is allowed by <br />conditional use permit with the following conditions: <br />a. All fences in the non-corner side and rear yards of residential property that <br />abuts a railroad track shall be constructed to a maximum height of twelve (12) <br />feet.
