Resolution dedared ado~~t~ed. <br />GARD~N Mr. Doug Mayo, Coiumon 13ond C~mm~inities, the owners of Garden <br />T~RRAC~ 'Cen~ace, ap~~eared before the Cou~icil requesting a letter of suppoit for <br />ADDIT[ON tt project involving the adtlition oF36 units ro Gartlen `I~errace. <br />Council discussed the Fact that this atldition is estimated to generate <br />$14,000 in new taxes (~or the "fa~ lncremenC FinHncin~ llistrict over a <br />period of lpproximately 20 years. ("I'he tax calc~ilation is b~tsed on revised <br />tax cl~ssitic~tion percentages receutly enacted by the Legisiature.) The <br />City AdminisCrator pointed out th~t lhe properry is a ditticult one to <br />develop ~iven parl:in~ req~iirements, setbacl<s, antl visibility. "fhe owners <br />of the M~rl<et PI£ice Shop~~ing Center havc indiclted this is a diflicult <br />conunercial site to develop. '~~hcre is alsv a problem in fha[ wfiter main <br />and sewer lii~es run throu~h the middle of the propert'y. HUD financing <br />will not allow dollars to be spent~ ou the reloc~it~ion oPthese lines. <br />Therefore, Common E3ond is request~in~ City ~ssistance in this relocation. <br />Fahey pointed out that Yhe project will crelte addition~i senior housin~ in <br />tl~e City. There ~re currently waitin~ lists for the existing senior housing. <br />Sc~lze su~~ested that thc location of these uCilities h~s always been <br />troublesome antl sug~ested it ti<ts Iiine t'he C:i¢y do somethin~ to correct <br />this problerri. The Atlministrator <br />pointed o~it Chat he has recommentled that the cost be paid for fiom the <br />Wat'er c~ Sewer Capilll lmprovcment account.
