MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 2G, 1997 <br />ASSESSMENT Mayor Fahey opened the Public Hearin~ to consider the assessment of the <br />HEARING - Klein property located at 2620 Rice Street for the cost of removal of a <br />IMP. 92-2 hazardous building. The cost associated with this removal work is <br />KLEIN $5,300.00 <br />PROPERTY <br />The City Administrator reported that the house at 2620 Rice Street was <br />removed as a hazardous building by court order. In removing the <br />hazardous house, the City followed the procedures outlined in the court <br />order. <br />The Administrator reported that the City is in receipt of an objection to the <br />assessment. The objection was filed by Mr. Dino Berndt on behalf of <br />Dennis Klein and Doris Klein. <br />Morelan asked what the substance of the objection was <br />The City Attorney reported that the objection is generic in nature, and <br />doesn't list any reasons for the objection. <br />Mr. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI UTIONNO. 97-I1-281-ACKNOWLEDGINCi RECEIPT OF <br />THE OI3JECTION TO ASSESSMENT FOR IMPROVEMENT NO. 92- <br />2, REMOVAZ, OF HAZARDOUS BUII.DING FROM 2620 RICE <br />STREET, AND DENYING THE 073JECTION <br />The fore~oing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mayor Fahey asked if there was anyone present from the ~eneral public <br />who wished to comment on the assessment of the costs associated with <br />Improvement No. 92-2. <br />There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by Scalze, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RE.SOI. UTION NO. 97-11-282 - ADOPTING THE ASSESSMENT <br />FORIMPROVEMENTNO. 92-2, REMOVAI.OFHAZARDOUS <br />2 <br />
