MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP ME~TING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />DECEMBER 17,1997 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 17'~' day of <br />December, 1997 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meetin~ to order at 6:30 P.M. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br /> CITY COLTNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br /> Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br /> Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br /> Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br /> Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br /> ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br /> Planning Comm. Mr. Gene DeLonais <br /> Ehlers & Assoc. Mr. Rusty Fifield <br /> Market Place Mr. Bob Grootwassink <br /> Market Place Mr. Mark Hotzler <br /> The Venetian Inn Mr. Jim Vitale <br /> Deputy Clerk Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />RICE STREET/ The purpose of this evenin~'s workshop meeting is to review issues <br />LITTLE related to the Rice Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment project. <br />CANADA The City Administrator reviewed in detail his memo dated December <br />ROAD 12, 1997 which outlines a number of issues impacting the financial <br />REDEVELOP- feasibility of the project as well as other variables which could <br />MENT negatively impact the project. This review included an analysis of the <br /> cash flow for the project as well as a schematic design for the proposed <br /> theater development as well as other spin-off development for the area. <br />Fahey noted that the schematic suggested the theater location in the <br />northeast corner of the redevelopment area, adjacent to the Market Place <br />Shopping Center. This would leave properties south of Little Canada <br />Road as a second phase of the redevelopment project. <br />
