MINUTES CITY COUNCIL DECEMBER 17, 1997 Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL DTION NO. 97-12-305 - RATIFYING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN AS RECOMMENDED I3Y THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR The foregoin~ resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Fahey, Pedersen, Scalze. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Mr. Pedersen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RE,SOI, IITION NO. 97-12-306 - APPROVINC THE 199813UDGET AS RECOMMENDED I3Y THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Pedersen, LaValle, Fahey, Scalze, Morelan. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. LICENSE FEES Scalze referred to The Review's recent article regarding the City's increase in license fee for auto-related businesses. Scalze suggested that the Council look at license fees on a more frequent basis rather than end up making substantial increases in some fees that have not been increased in the past 10 years. Morelan agreed that fees should be reviewed either annually or bi- annually, and suggested that fees should be reflective of the City's expenses. The City Administrator pointed out that the auto repair license fee has become an issue ~iven the increased code enforcement activities associated with this license over the past year or two. Fahey agreed that license fees should be looked at annually, and commented that the amount of the fee should be reasonably related to the cost of service.
