MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 17, 1998 <br />DEAI.ERS LICEN.SE FOR LINCOLN PAWN & JEWELRY <br />LOCATED AT 2750 RICE STREET FOR THE LICENSE PEffiOD <br />JANUARY 1, 1999 THRDUGH DECEMBER 31, 1999 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resotution declared adopted. <br />1999 BUDGET The Council reviewed the proposed 1999 Budget documents, and it was <br />noted that for the fourth year of the last six, the City is proposing a zero <br />percent net levy increase. Fahey noted that the City held its Truth In <br />Taxation on the proposed 1999 Budget on December 7`~'. <br />There was no one from the general public present wishin~ to comment on <br />the proposed 1999 Budget. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Morelan noted that the 1998 Budget surplus will be used to balance the <br />1999 Budget to the extent that funds are available. Any remaining deficit <br />will be covered by a transfer from the Infrastructure Capital Improvement <br />Fund. This amount is currently projected to be $9,403. <br />Fahey recommended that the 1999 Budget be adopted with a change <br />providing for a 3.5% salary increase for the City Administrator. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL DTION NO. 9R-12-285 - APPROVINC AND ADOPTING THE <br />1999 BUDGET AND 1999 TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY OFLITTLE <br />CANADA AS PRESENTED BY CITY STAFF INCL UDING THE USE <br />OF 1998 BUDGET SURPI,US AND TRANSFER FROM THE <br />INFRASTRUCTURE CAPITAI, IMPROVEMENT FUND TO <br />I3ALANCE THE 73UDGET AS WELL AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />13UDCET INCREASING THE CITYADMINISTRATOR'S SALARY <br />13Y3.5% <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scaize. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />
