MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 22, 1999
out that even if Little Canada's tax rate was the same as Roseville's, Little
Canada would not be able to offer the same amount of services.
Morelan indicated that his first thoughts relating to the debt levy reduction
dollars were that the City should not reduce the tax levy at all given the small
impact those dollars have on the avera~e tax bill. Morelan stated, however, that
the recommendation of the committee is the politically correct thin~ to do.
Fahey indicated that he felt the recommendation was a good one and he
supported it. Fahey felt it should be adopted and the City should move forward.
Fahey felt the recommendation was a wise one and a good financial decision.
Scalze felt there may still be some room for movement.
Fahey thanked the committee for the great job they did and noted that the
Council will call for a public hearing to formally present the report and act on it.
The consensus of those present was that the public hearing would be held at the
August 11, 1999 Council meeting.
There being no further business, the workshop adjourned at 7:12 P.M
, ~~ ~ ~~
/ n
•-r_.~LC~s SL; ,_~,; _ r, ~'~~ r
Mich el I.
