MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 22, 1999
Groholski indicated that in addition to the purchase price of the property,
they will have building costs and other site improvement costs. She
pointed out that one area of the property is low and will require fitl.
Fahey indicated that he was agreeable to the City's involvement in the
purchase of this property, and felt that the site was an appropriate one for
Precision Tree. He pointed out the City's involvement in Precision Tree's
need to relocate. Therefore, felt some leeway was warranted on the
stora~e issue.
Scalze pointed out that the site is heavily wooded and asked how much of
the woods would stay. Scalze suggested that a variance may be
appropriate for the outdoor storage if enough wooded area will remain to
screen the storage. Groholski invited the Council to visit the site to get a
feel for it.
Morelan pointed out that outdoor storage is limited under the Code to
ensure against very small buildings being constructed that limit the City's
tax base.
LaValle asked the type of materials proposed for the Precision Tree
building. The Administrator reported that a nova brick would be used,
which is the same brick being proposed for the Country Office Park
buildings. This brick would comply with the City's I-P District standards.
Scalze a~ain indicated that she would like a diagram showin~ the site
layout, outdoor storage area, what will be stored on the site, screening, etc.
Fahey asked what the City would do with the property if it is acquired and
Precision Tree decides not to move forward. The City Administrator
replied that this site could be a potential future location for the City's
public works garage.
The Administrator indicated that with regard to the north site owned by
Mr. Schreier, both Frank Frattalone and Stockness Construction are
interested in this site. It would be the City's intention to assign a purchase
agreement to one of these parties. If neither wanted to pursue the
purchase, the City would not move forward with it. Again, there are tax
advantages to Mr. Schreier to have the City involved in this purchase.
CALL FOR Mr. Morelan introduced the followin~ resolution and moved its adoption:
PUBLIC
HEARING - RESOL UTION NO. 99-9-261- CALI ING FOR A PDI3LIC HEARING
20
