Hazardous Materials Classes <br /> <br />Source: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration <br />3.10.4 HISTORY <br />Ramsey County has experienced several notable hazardous materials incidents in recent years, <br />including: <br />• University Avenue Chemical Spill. Occurring in Saint Paul in November 1992. A tanker truck <br />carrying hazardous chemicals overturned on University Avenue, causing a significant spill of <br />industrial solvents. This led to an evacuation of nearby businesses and residents, traffic <br />disruption, and road closures for several hours. The spill was contained and cleaned but did <br />pose a risk to public health and the environment. <br />
