As you are aware, the Contractor for the project is T. A.
Schifsky & Sons. The total amount earned by the Contractor on this partial pay estimate /
is $911,031.98. Subtracting 5% retainage of $45,551.60 and previous payments in the
amount of $416,375.78, the amount due the Contractor i~'66~ 1~~~ z /
Change Order No. 2 addresses three modifications were made to the anticipated/wTork
on Lakeside Court due to information received after the bid and conditions encountered
in the field. Those changes are summarized as follows. The first modification occurred
at the intersection of Keller Parkway and Lakeside Court. During the Contractors
attempt to connect to the existing storm sewer Tine crossing Keller Parkway it was
discovered that the existing pipe was not installed at a consistent grade. To allow for
connection into the line at the designed elevation additional storm sewer pipe was
removed and replaced. The second modification was to the sanitary manhole near the
corner of Lakeside Court. After excavation around one of the sanitary manholes on
Lakeside Court it was determined that the existing manhole should be replaced at this
time to correct the infiltration that was occurring and protect against additional work after
the street project was completed. The final change was for the water service at 655
Keller Parkway. The property owner indicated that he was installing a 1 '/z inch water
service from the property line to his home approximately 400 feet up hill based on
several discussions with various contractors. He indicated that he wanted a 1?/z inch
service all the way to the main. He was informed that he may be required to pay the
additional cost of the larger service and he indicated that he would do whatever it took to
get the larger service. Therefore the Contractor was directed to install a 1 '/2 service
connection to the watermain for this property.
2:\PROJ\120119E - 2009 Street and Utility Reconstruction\0071\Reconstruction\Partial Payments\Ltr-073009-CC (Payment #3 &
CO#2).doc
10062 Flantlers Court NE, Blaine, MN 55449 -Phone: (763) 780-0450 -Fax: (763) 780-0452
