<br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 915 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 915 OF THE ZONING CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />LITTLE CANADA RELATING TO DRIVEWAYS, PARKING, STORAGE, AND <br />PEDESTRIAN ACCESS <br />The Little Canada City Council, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 915.060 of the Little Canada Zoning Ordinance is repealed in its entirety. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Section 915.060 of the Little Canada Zoning Ordinance is adopted to read as <br />follows: <br />915.060 Driveways and Private Internal Access Roads <br />A. Access & Curb Cuts <br />1. All lots shall have direct adequate physical access for emergency vehicles along the <br />frontage of the lot from either an existing dedicated public roadway, or a private roadway <br />or access drive. <br />2. The number, location and width of private access drives or roads onto public roads may be <br />controlled and limited by the City Council in the interests of public safety and efficient <br />traffic flow. <br />3. The minimum separation between driveways shall be: <br />a. For private driveways along a public street : two (2) times the required side yard <br />setback for a driveway in the applicable zoning district, unless a greater separation <br />distance is deemed necessary by the City Engineer in the interest of public safety or <br />access management. <br />b. For U-shaped driveways along any street: minimum thirty (30) feet between the inside <br />edges of the driveway surface, unless additional spacing is required for turning radius <br />or vehicle maneuvering, as determined by the City Engineer. <br />4. The minimum distance between the point that any private driveway meets a public street, <br />and the nearest intersection of two public street curb lines shall be thirty (30) feet. <br />5. The maximum width for any portion of a driveway at the property line shall be twenty-four <br />(24) feet for a driveway that serves a detached house; a commercial, industrial or <br />institutional driveway may be twenty-eight (28) feet if two lanes and thirty-six (36) feet if <br />three lanes. The City Engineer may allow adjustments to the driveway intersection corner <br />radius if needed to accommodate large trucks. <br />B. Location <br />1. Setbacks <br />a. Refer to Chapters 904–907 for standard setback requirements by zoning district. <br />b. Shared driveways with zero (0) foot setbacks between side or rear lot lines, serving <br />two or more uses on separate properties, are permitted provided that the property
