FIRE WITH EMERGENCY SERVICES <br /> <br />Overview <br />The Little Canada Fire Department (LCFD) provides fire services to the City of Little Canada. LCFD is an <br />independent corporation that provides contracted service only to the City of Little Canada. The Emergency <br />Management Department is managed by the LCFD Fire Chief, who works with the Ramsey County Emergency <br />Management and the State of Minnesota - Department of Homeland Security for preparedness and mitigation <br />of natural and manmade disasters. <br /> <br />Service Areas <br /> Fire Protection  Emergency Management <br /> <br />2025 Departmental Goals <br /> Continue to partner with LCFD to provide fire/life safety response to the community <br /> Continue to attend meetings of the long-range planning committee <br /> Convene long-term planning committee to determine the equipment needs and appropriate funding for <br />fire building repairs, equipment, and vehicles. <br /> <br />Budgetary Commentary <br />Fire – Overall, there is an 8.98% increase from the 2025 to the 2026 budget. The primary cause for the increase <br />in the budget was the personnel services. For the 2026 budget, the state's contribution has been budgeted to <br />reflect actual funds received more closely, rather than estimated. This is a passthrough revenue from the state <br />to the City and to the Fire Relief Association on behalf of the Fire department. In addition, the contract with the <br />fire department, which is reflected in the contractual services line below, has increased by 9.17% or $44,235. <br /> <br />Emergency Services – There is a 0.33% or $13 change between the 2025 and 2026 budget. <br /> <br />74
