ENTERPRISE FUNDS-WATER & SEWER Sewer Fund: The Sanitary Sewer Utility Fund is a self-sustaining fund. The maintenance of the sanitary sewer lines and lift stations are the responsibility of the City of Little Canada Public Works Department. The maintenance includes inspections, flushing and cleaning of the sewer lines and routine maintenance of the lift stations. Wastewater flows into the Metropolitan Council’s system to be treated. Billed Rates Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCEV) provides regional sewer treatment including the City of Little Canada. The 2026 sewer utility rate increase is necessary to cover the increased treatment costs charged by Metropolitan Council, a 5.05% increase for 2026. As a result of these increases by the MCEV the City of Little Canada will be increasing its sewer rates by 8.0%. Utility rates are scheduled to be reviewed by City Council on December 3rd, 2025, with a final adoption and approval on December 17th, 2025.
