Resolution declared adopted.
IMP. NO. Mayor Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider the assessment of
2009-11- costs for the improvement of Thunder Bay Road by street reconstruction,
THUNDER concrete curb and gutter, and drainage enhancements. The Mayor
BAY ROAD indicated that there is a sign up sheet for residents with construction-
related issues. Residents with those types of questions or concerns will be
contacted following the meeting. The Mayor also noted that any property
owners objecting to the assessment proposed for their property must
submit a written objection this evening.
The City Engineer reviewed the Thunder Bay project cost details,
indicating that estimated actual costs are $887,500.00, and of that amount
$175,983.10 is being assessed. The Engineer then reviewed the City's
Assessment Policy. He noted that the maximum street assessment rate is
being applied, less a $5.60 per foot curb credit. "Therefore, the amount
assessed is proposed at $52.37 per front foot. Given the similarity of
properties along Thunder Bay Road, the assessment has been converted to
a per unit assessment of $4,888.42 per lot.
The Engineer then reviewed assessment payment methods available to
property owners.
