North Heights Hardware Hank

2611 Rice Street
Roseville, MN 55113
651-484-4266
Jim Schwalbach
October 10, 2009
To: Little Canada Planning Commission/City Council
Re: Interim use permit for PUD/ Exterior signage approval
1 am applying for an interim use permit for outside display space at 2920 Rice Street. This building is a
PUD property. I have enclosed a drawing that shows the location on the property I would like to display
product. We would be displaying bulk products on pallets such as, topsoil, soil amendments, wood chips,
mulch, firewood, water softener salt, bags of sand and a propane tank exchange cage. Depending on the
season, there might also be some lawn care equipment on display.
There will be product on display 24 hours of the day, seven days a week. It will take up about four parking
spaces out of the 150 plus spaces that are on this lot. By locating this product outside of the hardware store,
it makes for easier access to our customers' vehicle. This outside display space will not have an effect on
the traffic flow through the pazking lot.
I would like this permit to run the term of my occupancy in this building.
Along with this permit application, I have included my plans for signs to mount on the building. We are
allowed 310 square feet of signage including the pylon sign. The signs we are showing on the building,
including the HARDWARE HANK and department signs, total about 200 square feet, the pylon sign is 101
square feet. The face of the pylon sign will be opaque. The building signs will be LED channel mounted
letters.
Sincerely,
~y
~~j ~z~,a'
~
Jim Schwalbach
