<br /> MINUTES <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> DECEMBER 16, 2009 <br /> The next area rated was "IntergovermnenY Relations". McGraw provided <br /> an "E" ranking noting the Administrator's involvement in LMCIT, the <br /> Sheriff's Group, etc. McGraw felt that Yhis involvement enhances the <br /> Council's ability to get things done and promotes Little Canada's positions <br /> on issues. Keis ranked this area at "E". Montour agreed with this rating, <br /> and added the Administrator's involvement in the Rice Street/Highway 36 <br /> Bridge Project. Blesener agreed with the rating, and commented that the <br /> Administrator is very well thought of by the County and other <br /> governmental organizations. <br /> "Professional/Personal Development" was discussed. Keis rated this area <br /> as "M" stating that he was not sure of the Administrator's efforts in this <br /> regard. Montour stated Yhat he did not have enough information to rate <br /> this area, but had no issue with it. Blesener noted the City Administrator's <br /> efforts in learning about issues, such as rental housing licensing and HIA <br /> regulations, and applying this knowledge to the City's efforts in this <br /> regard. Blesener felt that the Administrator was awell-rounded <br /> individual. McGraw indicated YhaY he has some concerns that the <br /> Administrator did not take enough time for his own professional <br /> development, but noted that he is not lacking in any areas. The <br /> Administrator commented that he does not take as much time for <br /> professional development as he once did. The Administrator pointed out <br /> that given budget constraints, iY is difficult to make these efforts. <br /> The Council then discussed an overall rating of the City Adminishator's <br /> performance and the consensus was an "E" rating, Exceeds Expectations. <br /> McGraw credited the City Administrator for making his job as a Council <br /> Member easy. He noted that the Administrator is on top of things and <br /> works well with the Council, staff, and the public. Keis agreed with <br /> McGraw's comments and again stated that the Adminishator makes the <br /> Council'sjob easy. The Administrator stated that he appreciated the open <br /> communication from the Council. He felt the Council and City staff work <br /> as a team. The Administrator stayed that he appreciated the working <br /> relationship that the Council has with each other and the fact that they put <br /> the City as a whole first in their decisions. <br /> At this point, the Mayor and Council discussed the Administrator's 2010 <br /> compensation, pointing out the 2010 wage freeze for employees. With <br /> regard to a bonus for 2009, the Council's consensus was that that City <br /> Administrator receive a $6,500 bonus. <br /> There being no further business, the workshop meeting was adjourned at <br /> 7:25 p.m. <br /> 3 <br /> <br />
