<br /> MINUTES <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> FEBRUARY 24, 2010 <br /> charitable gambling. Therefore, the fireworks are not paid for from direct <br /> tax dollars. The Administrator suggested that this is a potential expense <br /> that the City could cut, but suggested that the Council look at all its <br /> options at the March 8`" workshop before making a decision. <br /> Montour stated that it would be nice to continue fireworks for the <br /> Canadian Days Celebration, but the City will have to make some tradeoffs <br /> in dealing with the impact of the State's budget problems. He indicated <br /> that everything is on the table at this point. <br /> Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOL UTION NO. 2010-2-47 - CALLING A WORKSHOP MEETING <br /> FOR MONDAY, MARCH 8, 2010 AT 6:00 P.M. TO DISCUSS THE <br /> CITYBUDGET ISSUES <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br /> Ayes (3). <br /> Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br /> McGraw pointed out that the whole LGA formula which determines how <br /> much LGA individual cities receive is difficult to understand. McGraw <br /> also commented that the State's allocation of LGA and then its <br /> unallotment of those dollars puts cities in a very difficult situation. The <br /> City Administrator agreed, and felt that the City may be in a very difficult <br /> budget situation for the next three years given the State's budget situation. <br /> BIRCHWOOll The City Administrator reported that the Birchwood City Cowlcil <br /> UTILITY reviewed the agreement for Little Canada to provide it with utility billing <br /> BILLING services. Their city attorney is making some modifications to the <br /> AGREEMENT agreement which have not yet been submitted to Little Canada for review. <br /> Therefore, the City Administrator recommended that the Council delay <br /> action on the proposed agreement at this time. Council agreed. <br /> AllJOURN Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2010-2-48 -ADJOURNING <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br /> Ayes (3). <br /> Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m. <br /> 14 <br /> <br />
