Given the narrowness oP the Rice Street bridge and the lack
of through lanes on 694, there is a bottleneck at the point Chat the Unwcave dte Weave project
t7ows into 694. Phis bottleneck is causing significant safeCy concerns as well as capacity issues.
Ramsey County is recommending that the numicipalities adjacent to Rice Street over I-694
submit resolutions in support of funding for the rewnstruction of the Rice Street Bridge as well
as completion of Chc three lane beltway from I-351; Co 1-35 W. These resohltions would be
submitted to both MN 17OT and the Federal I tighway Administration.
Attached is a resolution outlining the specific concerns and ru•ging the iuunediaCe funding of the
accessary improvements. Staff reconuucnds adoption of this resolution.
