<br /> Minnesota State Fire Corle-1909.4 Security. Permanent lumber storage areas shall be <br /> <br /> surrounded with an approved <br /> fence. 1%ences shall be a rninimum of 6 feet (1829 mm) in <br /> height. <br /> The proposed storage area is not permanent storage area and therefore does not <br /> require a secw•ity fence. The storage area does cou~ply with MSFC 1909.4. <br /> Minnesota State Fire Code-1909.5 Fire protection. An approved hydrant and hose <br /> system a• portable,~re-extinguishing equipment suitable for the fire hazard involved <br /> shall be provided for open storage yards. <br /> Hydrant and hose sys•[ems shall be installed in accordance with NFPA 24. Portable fire <br /> extinguishers complying with Section 90G shall be located so that the travel distance to <br /> the nearest unit does not exceed 75 feet (22 860 mm). <br /> There is a fire hydrant on site and the site does comply with MSFC 1909.5. <br /> It should be noted that there are two flammable liquid storage tanks near the area of the <br /> proposed lumber storage. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> J <br /> Jim Lee <br /> Fire Marshal <br /> 14 <br /> <br />
