MAYOR
Bill Blesener
y4v
COUNCIL
~ Rick Montour
John Keis
~ ~ Michael McGraw
G~fG~i GG Shelly Boss

515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 766-4029 /FAX: (651) 766-4048 Joel R, Hanson
www. ci.little-Canada. mn. u s
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener & Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
Jessica Jagoe, Code Enforcement Officer
DATE: July 23, 2010
RE: Outdoor Storage Licensing
The spreadsheet included with this memo shows the outdoor storage licensing status of
those properties subject to the new code. Most properties have been inspected, but a few
had valid questions that needed further review before any license could be issued. As
well, there are a couple of properties that have not responded to the notices, license
application or invoice mailed to them.
Given this is the first year for licensing, staff feels the Council should consider granting
an additional 60 days to comply. Staff feels this is reasonable given a number of the
properties were not issued a license because clarification was needed. If the Council
agrees, staff will mail out a final notice letter to each property that has not been issued a
license informing them of the extension and steps that will be taken if compliance is not
achieved. Staff presumes if the Council agrees to an extension and a property is not in
compliance after that time any additional license fees will apply.
