'17te highlights of the changes include: <br /> Section 1601.080 -Repair of Leaks: A lot of information was added to this section to <br /> ensure that water leaks are addressed as soon as possible and to make sure unmetered <br /> water is accounted for following a teak. Iti also outlines the responsibility of the property <br /> owner to maintain the water service from the building to the water main. "Phis includes <br /> the water shut off. If it is buried or crooked or knocked off it is the property owner's <br /> responsibility to repair it so that City staff has the ability to turn the water on and off from <br /> outside the building. A provision has been added to allow City personnel to gain entry to <br /> an unoccupied building to shut the water oft if the outside shut off is inoperable and the <br /> water leak is a threat to public or private property or is a threat to public safety. The City <br /> Attorney has reviewed this addition and added some language. <br /> Section 1601.100 -Service Pipes: "I'he types of service pipe materials and the <br /> specifications for laying the service pipes were tweaked and a section was added to <br /> ensure tracer wire was laid along with plastic pipe for locating purposes. <br /> Section 1601.150 --Private Wells: `I'bis section was amended to reflect the fact that the <br /> Minnesota Department oPIIealth is now the overseeing agency for well sealing and <br /> property owners should advise the Department of Health if they are sealing their well. <br /> Section 1601.210 -Connection and Service Charges: Section 3 was expanded to show <br /> that after hours calls would result in higher service fees Co cover our overtime costs and to <br /> show the two options the property owner had for being billed. <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
