From the record, it is not clear what the original <br /> applicant, Joseph Eich, had applied for, for the what the City's approval actually <br /> consisted of. To resolve these issues, the applicants have requested approval of new <br /> Conditional Use Permits for Retail Auto Sales Lot and Outdoor Storage. As a separate <br /> issue, they are requesting a variance from a part of the City's screening requirements to <br /> allow an existing gate to remain without requiring it to screen the rear sales lot area. <br /> Each of these applications is evaluated below: <br /> CUP. Retail Auto Sales Lot <br /> The requirements of the Motor Vehicle Sales Lot in the I-1, Light Industrial District are <br /> as follows: <br /> D. Motor vehicle sales lot, provided that: <br /> 1. Outside services and sales are associated with a principal building of at <br /> least one thousand (1,000) square feet of floor area. <br /> 2. The entire sales lot and off-street parking area is paved. <br /> 3. Vehicles being displayed shall be in operable condition, and shall be <br /> licensed according to the State sales license held by the business owner on <br /> the premises. Any other vehicles shall be stored inside, or subject to aii <br /> Interim Use Permit for Outdoor Storage as regulations by Section <br /> 9I4.045.A of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />
