MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 25, 2010 AMEND Blesener noted that the next item of review relates to proposed ARCHI- amendments to Architectural Guidelines relative to architectural TECTURAL treatments for freestanding/pylon signs. It was noted that the GUIDELINES Planning Commission recommended approval of the amendments as proposed. The City Planner reported that the amendments proposed add additional quality requirements for freestanding signs. He noted that in recent actions approving these signs, the Council has had discussions about ways to enhance the appearance of these signs, and the amendments provide for additional architectural features to do so. Ms. Boss introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO. 2010-8-196 -ADOPTING THE AMENDMENT TO ARCHITECTURAL GUIDELINES FOR FREESTANDING/PYLON SIGNS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY PLANNER The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. AMENll ZONING Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider a Amendments to the & MUNICIPAL Zoning Code relative to the definition of garden shed and pylon sign CODES - height for properties in the vicinity of fieeway intersections as well as SHEDS, PYLON an Amendment to the Municipal Code relative to the definition of dog SIGN HEIGHT, enclosure. It was noted that the Planning Commission tabled action on DO(: this matter until its next meeting. ENCLOSURES Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO. 2010-8-197 -CONTINUING THE PUBLIC HEARING AND TABLING ACTION ON ZONING CODE AMENDMENTS RELATIVE TO DEFINITION OF GARDEN SHED AND PYLON SIGN HEIGHT AS WELL AS AMENDMENT TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO DEFINITION OF DOG ENCLOSURE UNTIL THE SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. 17
