This includes
removal and replacement of all driveway curbs for access modification.
There are 10 residential properties along Ontario Road and City staff is
recommending that a unit assessment be used on the project for the general
improvements. Each individual property would then pay for 50% of the
driveway curb removed and replaced if they chose to have their access
modified. If no modification were done the property owner would only pay the
general unit portion of the assessment. When the City's Street Assessment
Policy is applied to the project costs, the assessable cost to the adjacent
property owners is $26,000.00.
JESSICA COURT
The total street project cost for the mill and overlay of Jessica Court is
estimated at $68,000.00. There are 15 residential properties along Jessica
Court and City staff is recommending that a unit assessment be used on the
project. When the City's Street Assessment Policy is applied to the project
costs, the assessable cost to the adjacent property owners is $32,500.00.
PAYNE AVENUE
The total street project cost for the combination mill and overlay and mill and
pave of Payne Avenue is estimated at $312,000.00. There are 63 residential
properties along Payne Avenue that would be assessed for the project and
staff is recommending a unit assessment method be applied as was done
when the last street improvements were completed. When the City's Street
Assessment Policy is applied to the project costs, the cost to the adjacent
property owners is $142,500.00.
Table 2 summarizes the total project cost that will be borne by the City and the cost that
will be assessed to the benefited properties. A preliminary assessment roll has been
prepared and is shown in Appendix C.
Table 2
City Costs vs. Assessable Costs
Notes: The assessment amounts shown exclude any deferrable assessments.
14
